The man behind the portfolio

The man is me! My name is Nicolaj Lund Nielsen and for two years I have worked hard to become a Multimedia Designer at Business Academy Aarhus. I took my last semester at Limkokwing University i Malaysia.

The reason why i choose to go to Malaysia was because it was the ideal opportunity to develop my creative abilities with an international twist.

I'm matematicly minded by nature and therefore find it relatively easy to navigate in the code-related universe. Nevertheless, by desire I draw myself more towards the creative design world. The purpose of which is to better be able to express myself in illustrating my ideas. This has also been one of the main reasons why i chose to go to Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. The focus there, as its name alludes, lies on the creative aspects of multimedia development.

At Limkokwing I chose to do my final project in After Effects and Photoshop. Here I got live tutorials in both programs, alongside the solid working knowledge i got while doing my final project. A project of which I was rewarded with a Certificat of Excellence.

I burn with passion for this profession and know without a doubt that I am moving in the right direction!

Preliminary Skills

The FrogMonkeyBird explained

The totem pole consisting of a frog, a monkey and a bird together form the metaphorical symbol for perspective. This combined with the wide color selection - alongside the fact that it is an old indian monument - is to signal versatility.

As a Flash- / Web-designer, I believe that it is important to start of any assignment by looking at it from new angles. By this, I mean that it is decisive to recognize and appreciat various individuals situation and perspective, before rambling into creating a design. Rather than running blind and start harvesting ideas from your own backyard, it is importent to dig and study the fields of other parties concerned.

To make a website design unique and well-fit for whatever subject - One must take the big picture, a giant idea-tank of a cauldron, good with vigorous creation-will, and then stir it all up with an open mind. This is the simple formula behind the strange name FrogMonkeyBird. Perspective, versatility and delibirate creationism!
